Asian Pacific American Heritage Month: A Taste of Korea
May 31, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us in the kitchen as we explore a range of cultural plant-based dishes during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
The culinary spotlight will be on two Korean-influenced dishes: flower bibimbap and omija punch.
Bibimbap is a rice-based dish with assorted vegetables and red pepper paste for mixing. Traditionally served with ground meat and topped with a sunny-side up egg, PPMNY organizer Vivian Lee will show you a modern version of the dish with a floral touch using edible flowers, as well as a beet-based mixing sauce. Omija-cha is a traditional Korean tea made from dried magnolia berries. We’ll make a simple, refreshing omija punch using fresh fruit.
