NOTE: Please leave enough time for parking and prep to help us hit the trail on time at 4:15. Parking can be limited at this location, and you may have to park on the street 1/4 mile from the trailhead.

Let’s hit the trail for hiking, socializing with other vegans and experiencing the seemingly magical interaction of the Sandias and the late afternoon sunlight on this pretty easy hike of about 3.5 to 4 miles. We’ll have it wrapped up by just a few minutes after sunset so flashlights will not be necessary.

This hike has mild hills and some uneven rocky parts, but no long steep hills. If you haven’t been hiking for a while this hike might be a good way to ease back into it.

Parking is free at this location, but the parking lot will likely be full. There is also some street parking available on side streets off of High Desert Place about a quarter mile south of the main trailhead parking lot.

There is usually, but not always, a Porta-Potty available at this location.
