What: Embudo Trail hike with lunch on the trail

Time: Sunday May 5th, 9:30 AM

Location: Embudo Trailhead, Indian School Road, Albuquerque, NM 87111 GPS coordinates[masked], [masked]. (Please do not confuse Embudo Trailhead with Embudito Trailhead. This one is at the far eastern end of Indian School Road. Let’s meet at the entrance to the trail in the main parking lot.

This is a DIFFICULT hike of 8 to 10 miles, probably at least 4 hours on the trail. It’s a really pretty route with a lot of variety in terrain and vegetation. We will hike up the trail at least as far as Osu Spring, and possibly to the top of the mountain, depending on how it’s going. Pack yourself a vegan lunch and we’ll pick a scenic spot to stop and eat along the way. Please respect all members of this ABQ Vegan Meetup event by ensuring that any food or drinks that we bring along are completely plant-based (no meat, no dairy, no eggs, and no honey).

Again, this will be a DIFFICULT hike of 8 to 10 miles. It is steep, with a few boulders we’ll have to climb over here and there. Please RSVP only if you are in reasonably good shape and prepared for a knee and ankle workout.
