Evening with the Stars! Meet the Vegans’ Poet of the Eastbay!

EVENING WITH THE STARS! MEET THE VEGANS’ POET OF THE EASTBAY, WEDS. FEB. 5 AT 6 PM
On Weds. Feb. 5 at 6 pm, meet an acclaimed Bay Area poet who has created original poetic works that call for respect for all sentient life and animal liberation, saving the environment and denouncing the anti-environmental policies of the current administration.
Joseph W. Stegner is a local icon of the protest movement. His artistry has been recognized by the City of Oakland and lauded nationwide.
Joseph carries the torch for the protest movement, calling for social justice, for integrity and transparency in government, respect for all sentient life and the liberation of people and animals in bondage., and to save the planet from global warming. Following in the footsteps of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and other icons of the protest movement, Joseph calls politicians and corporations to account. He writes poetry and songs which are calls to action. His works inspire and convict. He brings to the table the very talent and inspiration which can galvanize people to action.
He is also a local hero, having been shot will trying to stop a mugging. Joseph will share his story during our evening with him.
Joseph is very generously printing copies of his poetry for those who attend this event. This is your opportunity to take home inspiring protest poetry which you in turn can share to encourage others to join the cause. He also is willing to autograph your copy of his poetry!

Location is the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness. Take the elevator to the mezzanine, then follow the signs down the hall to the right.
A fifteen dollar requested donation covers the evening. The nutritionist is donating her time to provide YOUR dinner! And the poet is donating his time to benefit the community. Funds go toward costs: facility rental, food, transport and more.
