Going Vegan? STAYING Vegan, with Kecia Doolittle
July 17, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
GOING VEGAN? STAYING VEGAN, WITH KECIA DOOLITTLE, WED. JULY 17 AT 6 PM
On Weds July 17 at 6 pm, Kecia Doolittle will talk about vegan *staying power.* Not just vegan strong, but strong for the duration. Here is what she says:
““Going vegan” is an important step for many of us in our journeys to become effective forces for compassion in the world, as well as a powerful experience that comes from integrating our day-to-day experience with our values. To answer questions about how we can successfully stop eating animals, or thrive while maintaining that commitment long-term, we must understand the interconnected relationships we have with that word, with the animal rights movement, with the world at large, and with ourselves.”
Kecia will share proven techniques. For example, how to apply mindfulness to vegan staying power. “Setting an intention of what we want to accomplish, identifying our self-defeating behaviors, recognizing the pain caused when we resist engaging in those old behaviors, and practicing being non-judgmentally aware of those sensations and then releasing them so we can move forward in our lives.”
And much, much more.
A former New Sector Alliance Fellow in Nonprofit Leadership, Kecia is an animal rights activist, speaker, and consultant. She most recently served as Campaign Director for a multi-state pilot project of In Defense of Animals that explored innovative strategies to support New and transitioning vegans.
She is not afraid to challenge the status quo at the highest levels of government. Recently, Kecia confronted Senator Elizabeth Warren at a campaign event in Iowa.
This is your chance to meet and show your support for someone who is on the front lines of the ethical vegan movement, and to learn important techniques for maintaining your vegan lifestyle.
First, enjoy a delicious full-course vegan dinner, planned by a certified Nutritionist. All vegan, all health-supporting, all you care to eat. Beverages and desserts included.
Location is the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. Take the elevator to the mezzanine, then follow the signs down the hall to the right.
A fifteen dollar requested donation covers it all. Imagine, a full vegan dinner, AND a cutting-edge lecture by a leader in the vegan movement, all for fifteen bucks. This is only possible because the nutritionist and the presenter are donating their time to benefit YOU. Funds go toward facility rental, food, transport and other costs.
