IKIGAI FOR VEGANS! WITH ELISE MARIE COLLINS, WEDS. NOV. 6 AT 6 PM
On Weds. Nov. 6 at 6 pm, Elise Marie Collins, author, wellness lecturer and yoga instructor, will give an amazing presentation on Ikigai for Vegans.
WHAT IS IT?
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being.” It indicates the source of value in one’s life or the things that make one’s life worthwhile. The word translated to English roughly means “thing that you live for” or “the reason for which you wake up in the morning.”
Your Ikigai sparks an inner light and joy that will influence your health and well being mentally, physically and emotionally. Those that embrace a plant-based diet are following what is known as Sattvic diet in Ayurveda. What you eat affects your consciousness and a Sattvic diet brings light and enlightenment which supports you in discovering and amplifying the light of your Ikigai. Discover your what brings you joy, your Ikigai.
HOW IMPORTANT IS IKIGAI?
It has been statistically proven that ikigai is correlated with a lower level of stress and an overall feeling of being healthy. Some studies showed that people that don’t feel ikigai are more likely to experience cardiovascular diseases.
Ikigai balances out the secretion of neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and β-endorphin. Some studies demonstrate that a sense of purpose (goal) in life/ikigai is negatively correlated with a need for approval from others and anxiety.. Studies also found that ikigai is associated with longevity.
VEGANS SHOULD HAVE A CORNER ON IKIGAI
Respect for all sentient life. Saving the environment. Promoting optimal health and peace for the peoples of the world. We should have it made!
But do we? Elise Marie will guide us to make it happen. She will answer these important questions: “How can we use our inner drives and desires to support health, wellness, and longevity? And how can we find purpose in the world and use it to make a HUGE difference in our community and worldwide, and live a more vibrant and healthy life as well?
