Kayla Tawoda is a 10 yr US Navy Veteran and WFPB athlete, enthusiast, and community teacher. She has competed in the world’s largest natural (drug-tested) bodybuilding organization at the Pro Level on WFPB diet. Her passion is educating athletes of all levels and ages on the power of plants to heal the body and optimize performance.
Kathleen Kastner Mortensen has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga daily for 22 years and has completed the third series. She’s been vegan for 17 years and feels healthy, strong and flexible at age 50!
Wade Mortenson has been vegan for 12 years and overcame thyroid cancer with diet and lifestyle changes.He practiced Ashtanga Yoga for ten years and now surfs Swamis beach daily, which has strengthened his entire being!

Gina Sample is a life-long athlete (gymnastics, freestyle frisbee, triathlons and cycling) who in 2012 went vegan after doing a 21-day cleanse to heal her gastro issues related to long distance training and racing. She is a graphic designer (and webmaster for PlantDiego.com!) and a vegan chef who created a 3-part cooking series titled “Plant-Powered Nutrition for Athletes.”
Jason Berchekis is a Multi-Sport Coach and has been vegan for a little over 4 years now. Since going vegan he has completed the Spartan Trifecta, several Half Ironman and 2 full ironman races and soon a 50k Ultra trail race.
Daniel Reintjes is a Multi-Sport Coach and runs The Vegan Powered Athlete!

Ryan St. Martin is a 34 year old avid runner and all around lover of anything active and outdoors. He has been vegan for almost 6 years and this year he ran his second marathon and first 50k.
Ramona Cadogan lives in New York & just so happens to be in San Diego for a competition. We are thrilled she is able to participate in our event! She has been vegan since 2006 after realizing that eating animals was something she no longer wanted to do. She competes in Olympic Masters Weight Lifting and started training in the sport in 2013. Her top honors in this sport are winning the silver medal in 2016 at the Masters Nationals, the silver medal in 2017 at the American Masters Championships & 2 gold medals back to back in 2018/2019 at the Masters Pan American Championship. She is looking forward to competing at the Masters Cup on Oct 5th in San Diego and we are thrilled to have her stop by our PlantDiego WFPB Potluck and Plant-Powered event.
