According to the CDC, the life expectancy of non-Hispanic Black men is seven years shorter than average the general population. What contributes to shameful health disparities across racial and socioeconomic lines, and what is our responsibility to bring about change? In this insightful program, Dr. Williams will reveal the root causes of chronic disease–with a focus on nutrition–that create a perfect storm for health disparities. But our food choices are not all within our control. Dr. Williams will address the variables that make it less likely for people of color to access proper food and also make connections among diet, chronic illness, and COVID-19.

Kim A. Williams, Sr., M.D., MACC, FAHA, MASNC, FESC, is a cardiologist and Chief of the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical College.

Pay-what-you-wish donation encouraged.
