Plant-based Summer Learning Circle
August 9, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
What have you been reading about plant-based nutrition? Let’s get together and share!
The Plant-based Summer Learning Circle is kind of a reverse book club: each person picks a different book or article on the topic of plant-based nutrition and/or cooking. We sit in a circle and take turns sharing key take-aways from the books and relevant personal reflections. Think a 5-minute casual but informative presentation, with the opportunity for questions and discussion.
If sharing about nutrition, science-based sources are preferred.
WHAT TO BRING:
– Be prepared to share a few key points and thoughts about a book or article related to plant-based nutrition and cooking. (About 5 minutes. Please be mindful that everyone will want to be sharing and we want to make room for discussion.)
– Bring the book or article with you if you can.
– Bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. (If you don’t have one, message me.)
– An umbrella if light rain is in the forecast. (In case of heavy rain, this event will be rescheduled.)
At this time, there will be no food prepared for or at the event. However you are welcome to bring your own food to eat during the circle, as long as it’s vegan and plant-based. (No meat, dairy, eggs, or honey please.)
*** Kindness is expected when interacting with others in the learning circle, asking questions, or commenting on someone else’s contribution. Food-related ideas can trigger strong emotions, please keep yourself in check when expressing either. Disagreement is OK but shall be expressed respectfully. ***
