Prevent Heart Disease with Food
February 25, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
“Most coronary disease need never exist, and where it does exist, it need not progress…. It’s simple: advocate a lifestyle of plant-based nutrition, make a bold leap toward a world free of heart disease, and lessen our use of scalpels and drugs.” – Caldwell Esselstyn, MD
In honor of Healthy Heart Month, Plant Powered Metro New York returns to Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, presenting cardiologist Hooman Yaghoobzadeh, MD, FACC, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Being overweight is just one factor that puts people at risk for heart disease or stroke. A heart-healthy diet can help you lose weight and lower your cholesterol, blood pressure, and triglycerides. Learn practical ways to improve your heart health through diet from a cardiologist who has prescribed an evidence-based, whole food, plant-based diet to his patients. Lecture will be followed by Q&A.
Free registration is required at the Meyerson JCC’s website, here: https://jccmanhattan.org/programs/prevent-heart-disease-food
