SE-SG 10th Anniversary – Gala Dinner
Yes, that is 10 YEARS of plant-based eaters AND wannabes coming together to change the world. Come celebrate at GALA DINNER on 2/2/2020, Sunday, at the elegant Redwood Cafe. Don’t let the word cafe fool you. This is the place to go for special events.
Date: February 2, 2020, Sunday
Time: 4:00 pm (they open for dinner at 4:00 pm on Sunday)
Place: Redwood Cafe, 4342 Dale Road, Modesto, corner of Dale & Bangs
Bring: $ and party attitude
The Redwood Cafe has a fantastic menu – if you are a carnivore – but not so much if you are vegan. There is one lonely vegan item on the menu called “The Vegan”: chickpea panisse, fall vegetables, butternut squash, maitake mushrooms, basil oil. I spoke with the manager and the chef will come up with a couple other vegan entrees for our group.
Now, hold on to your socks. The Vegan is $28.00 (not including tax and tip). If you consider the price range of entrees ($25.00 to $48.00), The Vegan is the second to last in lowest price. There will be a couple other vegan entrees that the chef will prepare that should be priced around $28.00+ range.
I have reserved a table for 16 people to 20 people. Table will be under the name of So Easy-So Good and Kathy Haynes.
PLEASE RSVP by no later than Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
If you decide at the last minute to come and don’t have time to RSVP, please feel free to come and hopefully there will be room for you.
One last thing. We could go to a fully vegan restaurant but that would do nothing to entice “regular” restaurants to put vegan options on their menu. Redwood Cafe is dipping their toe in the water by having one item on the menu. We want them to know that there is a real demand for vegan options.
Remember, a compliment to the staff and management and/or a note (handwritten or emailed) of thanks goes a long, long way in keeping communications open between us vegans and the rest of the world.
