OUR AMAZING PRESENTERS:
– BETH SUMMERS operates Traveling Plant Powered an IG, Facebook and WordPress entity. A lifelong traveler, Beth is a 10 year vegan and a 3 year WFPB advocate. Through a range of coincidences and good fortune, Beth will be leaving for a 5 week trip in Europe on October 1. She plans to do it all being WFPB SOS free. Beth will share her plans, her social connections thus far (and how she found them) and her “food kit” for the upcoming marathon adventure! There will be no video AND all of her tactics will be posted on her blog before her October 1 departure date. So if you miss it, the essence of her information will be available.
– MIKE WEINBERG will do a show-and-tell on traveling light for anyone paranoid, like him, about losing checked luggage–or who doesn’t want to wait for it or lug it around! This has become increasingly challenging as international airlines have made it their mission to reduce carry-on weight limits. But he’s done it successfully with various all-vegan group trips he’s organized, including Vegan Kilimanjaro (March 2018) and Vegan Antarctica (March 2019). His next packing challenge will be Vegan Inca Trail (April 2020), where the airline carry-on limit is a mere 17.6 lbs (8 kg), which must include all his additional clothing layers for high-altitude trekking!
Mike also has developed the following free resources:
* VeganDiego http://www.vegandiego.com
– A directory of San Diego County’s all-vegan eateries, businesses, organizations, and social-media groups as well as Vegan Travel Adventures including the status of Vegan Kilimanjaro 2 and Vegan Antarctica 2.
* V-Cards http://www.maxlearning.net/HEALth/V-Cards.pdf
– Business-sized “I AM VEGAN” cards listing animal products to avoid in over 100 languages.
* MaxVegan No-SOS Recipes http://www.maxlearning.net/HEALth/MaxVeganRecipes.htm
– Includes dehydration tips so you can bring full meals in your carry-on luggage that can be eaten as is or rehydrated at your destination.
We can’t wait to share this event with all of you!
