New Twists on Tofu and Plantains
Kadek Supartini, executive chef of Manna Kitchen, LLC, studied at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. The recently opened Manna Kitchen is the first plant-based restaurant in Chicago’s western suburbs. Kadek’s pies and creations are well-known for their exquisite flavors and textures. She will show you how to make Gochuchang (glazed tofu and tempeh), followed by Kolak, a plantain and yam desert with coconut cream. You will impress your guests when you serve these two vegan delicacies.
Veggie Fest, the two-day summer vegetarian/vegan extravaganza, stays alive all year through Veggie Fest Presents. Veggie Fest Presents offers help and inspiration to make choices for including more plant-based foods in your diet. Local and well-known chefs present food demonstrations (with samples) where you can learn to create delicious, vegetarian/vegan dishes. Our speakers and authors play an integral role in helping you understand the benefits of good food for healthy living and how you can incorporate this into your lifestyle.
