VegKC Restaurant Meetup – Blue Sushi Sake Grill

Blue Sushi Sake Grill has a number of unusual and very interesting veg-based sushi options! Plus they’ve recently added some new items and dessert!
This is not your typical avocado and cucumber roll sushi, they have unusual combinations including things like seiten, mango, and sriracha fried onion rings! Also we should be there during sushi Happy Hour – where select veggie rolls are around half price!!!

Note: While miso soup is often veg-based and delicious, theirs unfortunately uses fish sauce, but can be ordered without on request.
Here are some examples from their unusual selection of veg-based sushi rolls!

Prince Roll. With eggplant vegan tempura, avocado, sweet soy, it’s just that royal.
Shojin. The bbq seitan, grilled asparagus, pineapple, shallot, bibb lettuce, nori, brown rice, soy paper and sweet soy. It just works.
Cowgirl. Don’t let the name fool you. This roll is sure to cure any hamburger cravings you have, without the meat or cheese! Ingredients: pickle vegan tempura, sriracha-fried onion rings, vegan mayo, bbq paper.
Shiitake to Me. This Earthy roll consists of wild mushrooms sautéed in coconut milk with shiitake vegan tempura, sweet potato vegan tempura, truffle oil, sweet soy and Thai basil.
Thai Hippie. Think maki spring roll. You’re going to LOVE the fresh flavors of tofu vegan tempura, avocado, cucumber, carrot, topped with peanut sauce, cashews and a Thai basil, cilantro, mint and red onion salad.
Spicy Ahimi. Ohhh my goodness…this is fish-less tuna like you’ve never seen before (and I bet you have never seen fish-less tuna). This roll packs a punch. Wash it down with your fave side of Cripsy Brussels Sprouts and you’ve got yourself a well-balanced meal.
V.L.T. You guessed it…Veggies, lettuce and tomato. Specifically, bibb lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomato, avocado, shallot, vegan mayo wrapped in smoked tomato paper with white rice.
