VegOut Vegan Moai Potluck
September 26, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Our September potluck, hosted by Joanne Perez, is on Thursday, September 26.
Location: The Beach Cities Health District, 514 N. Prospect Ave., lower level basement in the Beach Cities Room, RB 90277.
To get to the lower level, you can take the elevator by the main door entrance or by the side door entrance to the basement and walk west. We hope to have signs posted in the hallways. Since cell phones do not work in the lower level basement, if you need to make a call or send a message you can return to the main floor. That being said, please contact us early if your plans change and you won’t be attending or you wish to bring a friend as we will be setting up without cellphone access after 6 pm.
What to bring: Each person brings: (1) their own plates, bowls, silverware, napkin, drink container and beverage. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at this venue since it’s located on school property, (2) serving utensils for each dish (please don’t forget since we are not in a private home) (3) a plant-based dish to serve at least 12 people. For couples or those bringing guests, please either double the recipe or bring 2 separate dishes to each serve 12 people and (4) take-home containers.
Parking: You can park anywhere — in the parking structure, in front of the medical building to the left, in the back of the BCHD building or in the lower level.
Diet: Just a reminder, this is a PLANT-BASED potluck. Dishes to exclude meat, fish, poultry, dairy, honey, cheese, yogurt, butter, ghee, dairy-based margarines, mayonnaise, eggs and egg whites from the ingredients. That also means no nonfat milk, lactose or whey-based powders or sauces, gelatin, sour cream, cream cheese, whipped cream, fish, chicken or beef broth. There are many good substitutes available.

This event is cross listed with other groups, so attendance will be greater than shown on this Meetup site.
