x-Post: Making Movements: Race & Gender Intersections in Plant-Based Nutrition

October 12, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This event is presented by Plant Powered Metro New York and sponsored by A Well-Fed World.

Eating whole plant foods is an action that can unite us across many lines of difference and make strides toward collective liberation of all oppressed beings.

Join this conversation on Indigenous Peoples’ Day with PPMNY Brooklyn Organizer Emani Parson, MS and Black VegFest leaders Omowale Adewale and LoriKim Alexander, catalysts of social justice movements. We’ll discuss what plant-based nutrition can do for the health and well-being of Black and Brown communities, centering QTBIPOC (Queer & Trans Black Indigenous People of Color); being allies in health; and what an intersectional approach to food and health can look like in practice.

A Zoom meeting link will be sent to participants on the day of this event.
