Zero-Waste Vegan Market – Workshops and tour

May 18, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Bring your own containers and cutlery and enjoy all the amazing plant-based options at the first zero-waste vegan market. Don’t miss the TWO workshops about preparing and cooking your own plant-based food… without waste!

You are also welcome to come and see me either at my workshop at 1 pm or at my table at any other time during the day. I will be available to answer any and all questions about plant-based cooking.

The #zwvMarket is designed to bring both zero-waste and vegan shopping and education to the community. This is a free public event!

Why zero-waste?
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is over 3 times the size of France. It is estimated that we will have more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050. Over 2.5 million beverage cups alone end up in Vancouver landfills every week (Global News).

Why vegan?
Animal agriculture is the leading cause of ocean dead zones, deforestation, desertification, species extinction, and habitat destruction. A farm with 2500 dairy cows produces the same amount of waste as a city of 411,000 people (cowspiracy.com/facts). One serving of processed meat per day increases the risk of developing diabetes by 51%. Dairy is linked to many different types of cancer (whatthehealth.com/facts). More than 150 billion sentient, innocent animals are slaughtered every year for food (thevegancalculator.com/animal-slaughter).
