SUMMARY:Vegan Sunset Hike at Embudito
DESCRIPTION:Please read entire description before RSVP’ing. \nLet’s head out for a fun evening of vegan hiking and socializing on the Embudito trail. We’ll finish just a few minutes after sunset so flashlights shouldn’t be needed. \n(Please do not confuse Embudito trail with Embudo trail. I know\, but it has happened.) \nThis is a moderately difficult\, somewhat challenging hike\, so please be prepared with at least a moderate level of physical conditioning. There are some long\, steep sections and a few places where we’ll have to step up 12 to 15 inches. Beautiful rock formations\, and some trees as we get to the higher portions. We will hike up the trail for about an hour\, and then turn around and return by the same route. 4 to 5 miles in about 2 hours. \nThere is a free parking lot and plenty of street parking but you may have to walk a bit from your parking space to the trailhead. Please allow some time for parking so that we’ll be able to hit the trail on time at 6:20. There are no restroom facilities at this location. \nBring water! In case you bring any other refreshments for yourself\, please respect all members of this ABQ Vegan Meetup event by ensuring that they are completely plant-based (no meat\, no dairy\, no eggs\, and no honey).

DESCRIPTION:The connection between good health and the foods we eat is clear: whole plant foods are the foundation of any healthy diet. What’s not always as clear is how to prepare foods to create flavorful dishes your family will actually want to eat.    PPMNY volunteers Chantal Vital and Kristin Kabay\, RD\, have teamed up with Harlem’s Community Fridge 120 for an outdoor summer nutrition workshop series. They’ll show you how to prepare local produce from the community fridge to create delicious and healthy recipes that are easy and accessible to everyone.  \nJoin us weekly outdoors for:    \n* Live culinary demos using produce from the community fridge * Access to quick and healthy recipes your entire family will want to eat  * Tips and information on how to use food to treat and prevent many chronic health issues such as heart disease and diabetes  * Resources you can take home to improve your health \nRegistration is not required!
